Professional disposal partner for AMF

Artificial mineral fibres (AMF) are synthetic fibres made from mineral raw materials. They are used in a wide variety of areas, especially as insulation material in the construction industry (glass wool, rock wool). As useful as they are, AMF presents challenges both in processing and in subsequent disposal. The reason for this is the potential release of fibers that can be harmful to health when inhaled.

In addition, there is the low density of insulation material, which takes up a disproportionate amount of space in conventional disposal. These factors illustrate how important it is to have a professional waste management partner with the appropriate know-how and state-of-the-art technical solutions at your side.

State-of-the-art methods for compacting AMF

It is precisely for this reason that MAD Recycling GmbH operates one of the most modern and safest plants for compacting artificial mineral fibres at its site in Krostitz. The heart of the plant is a so-called 2-way press with a pressing pressure of 280 t, with which densities of at least 0.8/m³ can be achieved.

Our press is located in an encapsulated area with an extraction system and an air exchange of 38,000 m³/h. In addition, the air is filtered to 99.995%, so that no fibers from the system get outside. This gives us the opportunity to even process insulation materials containing asbestos. In order not to release any fibres during transport, the bales are always wrapped in a total of four layers of film.

Space-saving storage of the insulation material

Especially in this day and age, when landfill space is becoming increasingly scarce, our bales take up eight times less space than loose insulation material. With our bale shape and enormous density, we ensure more stability at the landfill and ensure long-term disposal security for our customers with our know-how and state-of-the-art technology.
